To ensure you get the maximum benefit and pleasure from your pool it is essential that it is cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Cutting costs in this area is not worth the problems it may cause.

To maintain a clean, clear swimming pool regular attention*  is required in a minimum of the following areas.

• Adjusting and maintaining the correct chemical balance. PH, chlorine, salt and anti algae chemicals. Includes regular testing.

• Regular cleaning via vacuuming and removal of sunken and floating objects with a net.  Brushing of the sides

• Back flushing to keep the sand filter operationally correct.

• Cleaning of filters and traps.

• Setting optimum timings for automatic filtration including valve settings

• Annual checks of sand levels etc.

* Less maintenance is needed in the winter months especially if the pool is covered.  Then the pool may be left for long periods.  The frequency increases with the approach of summer and the increased usage to a minimum of 1hr per week in mid summer.
